Elaine Wong is an intuitive visionary artist and retreat facilitator dedicated to guiding others in self-discovery and creative expression. After a 15-year career as a software consultant in IT, including four years living and working in Munich, Germany, Elaine transitioned to pursue her passion for art and community building.

In 2016, she co-founded The Hatchery Place with her partner, Kevin Yeoh, creating a conscious creative coliving home in Subang Jaya, Malaysia. Elaine’s art focuses on themes of transformation, using intuitive painting as a tool for personal exploration. Her retreats & workshops provide a safe, nurturing environment where participants can reconnect with their creativity and intuition.

Elaine’s ability to blend artistic expression with introspective practices makes her an inspiring guide for those seeking to slow down, reflect, and explore their inner world. kevin yeoh

woodwork educator | co-founder

Kevin Yeoh is a woodworking instructor and craftsman who has been sharing woodworking experiences with children and adults since 2017. He also specializes in working with individuals with special needs, offering fine motor skills training through woodworking. His services range from long-term coaching and private sessions to workshops, corporate team-building activities, and bespoke furniture making.

Growing up with his grandfather, a skilled woodworker, Kevin was deeply influenced by a hands-on approach to life, fostering his passion for craftsmanship. Although he spent nearly two decades in the tech industry, including a successful stint as a UX/UI designer at The Central Bank of Malaysia, Kevin eventually found his true calling in woodworking, finding fulfillment in creating and inspiring others.

In 2016, Kevin co-founded The Hatchery Place with Elaine Wong, building a creative space that fosters community and connection. Today, he is dedicated to inspiring younger generations to explore the art of handmade furniture and the joy of working with their hands, bringing his expertise and passion to The Hatchery Place.

Ai Jou is a writer, content creator, and lifelong explorer of spiritual growth and self-discovery, She is a certified facilitator of the Advanced Transformation Game by the Findhorn Foundation. With over 15 years of experience in marketing and communications, she combines her professional expertise in storytelling, communication and connection with her passion for personal development. Since 2011, Ai Jou has guided individuals through the Transformation Game, creating a safe space for deep exploration and self-reflection. The game is a tool to help participants uncover patterns and mindsets that may hold them back, empowering them to overcome blocks, shift perspectives, and embrace their fullest potential. As a facilitator of the Transformation Game and deep reflection sessions, Ai Jou’s approach integrates self-reflection, compassion, mindfulness, and a holistic understanding of the body, mind, and soul. She creates a safe and transformative space for personal growth, authenticity, clarity and breakthroughs.

marcus cheng

holistic bodyworker | movement therapist

Marcus is a dedicated Pilates instructor with 5 years of experience, specializing in restorative movement and mind-body connection practices. He is skilled in leading small group classes and one-on-one sessions, creating a calm and supportive environment for healing.

Marcus combines spinal motion exercises with mindful breathing to guide participants toward greater presence and balance. He has a particular focus on addressing psychosomatic discomfort, helping clients release pain linked to mental and emotional distress. Fluent in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese, Marcus facilitates explorative movement and bodywork sessions that nurture a deeper connection to the mind, heart, body, and soul.

miao shan

Miao Shan (妙善) brings a wealth of experience and a deeply mindful approach as a facilitator. Formerly a legal and public policy professional with a 9-year career at the Central Bank of Malaysia, Shan now embraces a slower, more intentional way of life, exploring gardening, tea brewing, and mindfulness practices.

Since 2018, Shan has volunteered as a helpline para-counsellor and has experience providing body therapy and care for the elderly. She practices mindfulness in the traditions of both Plum Village and Thai Forest communities and integrates therapeutic modalities such as Chinese calligraphy, Gong Fu Tea brewing, Qi Gong, and body therapy.

Shan’s passion lies in co-creating safe, nurturing spaces where individuals can express themselves and reconnect with their bodies and authentic selves. With a strong belief in the power of community for healing, she has facilitated mindfulness events, meditation retreats, and Dhamma school sessions.

junn heng

yoga instructor

Junn is an experienced yoga instructor with over 13 years of teaching and practice, specializing in Hatha Yoga. Trained under various traditions in India, she brings a rich depth of knowledge and passion to her sessions. Junn has conducted classes at leading fitness centers, including True Fitness, Chi Fitness, and Anytime Fitness, and has worked with private clients and corporate groups to enhance their well-being.

Her commitment to community service is equally inspiring. Junn initiated and led yoga sessions for visually impaired individuals at the Malaysia Association for the Blind for over two years and has volunteered at Rumah Hope, supporting former prisoners and individuals with HIV. During the pandemic, she extended her reach globally by teaching yoga to underprivileged children in Northern India via Zoom, fostering both physical health and mental calmness.
