our story
The Hatchery Place was born in 2016 out of a dream to live more creatively and intentionally. After leaving their corporate careers, Kevin (a woodworker) and Elaine (an artist) transformed their quiet suburban terrace house in USJ 11 into a small coworking and coliving space. What started as a simple escape from the cubicle world quickly grew into a vibrant community for digital nomads, traveling creatives, and locals to share skills, stories, and connections.
Over the years, The Hatchery Place evolved alongside its founders. Now in their late 40s, Kevin and Elaine have embraced a slower, more intentional pace of life. The Hatchery Place has shifted from a bustling coworking home into a cozy retreat for those seeking a creative pause from life’s busyness.
Today, we offer a mix of creative retreats and intimate gatherings that encourage reflection, creativity, and connection. From intuitive painting sessions and woodworking workshops to transformation games and serene Monday hikes, each experience is designed to nurture both your creativity and your soul.
Community remains at the heart of The Hatchery Place. Public gatherings like yoga mornings, game nights, and deep conversation circles create opportunities for meaningful interactions, whether you’re a retreat guest or a local friend.
The Hatchery Place is not a luxury retreat or a polished resort—it’s a humble, welcoming home for those who value simplicity, creativity, and slowing down. We invite you to step into this space, rediscover yourself, and add your own story to ours.
